As a present for her 10th birthday Jennifer's parents gave her horseback riding lessons. It was no surprise that she wanted to ride. Jennifer comes from a long line of horseman and women in her family. Her Aunt, both Grandpas and Great Grandpas all had horses. Her uncle even had a donkey! Riding just seemed to come naturally.
As a young rider, Jennifer focused her skills on the demanding hunt-seat and dressage disciplines, excelling to heights her family never thought possible in a very short period of time. Through her college years she was accepted onto the National Collegiate Horse Show Team for California State University Fresno. For most of her school years she was ranked 3rd on the West Coast and 12th in the entire Nation with the team. She then wrangled in her hectic show schedule and completed her Bachelor of Animal Science in Equine Studies with emphasis in Production Management.
After college Jennifer changed tacks and started training for Julie Roddy Cutting Horses and Leatherman and Sons Cutting Horses. After a wonderful experience on the cutting circuit Jennifer really wanted to return to her first passion dressage. After she married husband Jim, they opened White Horse Training in the fall of 2000. They were lucky enough to find a home at Serrano Creek Ranch in Lake Forest, Ca. Recently Jennifer moved White Horse Training to the beautiful Coto de Caza Equestrian Center, and is happy to have found a permanent home for her training program.
Jennifer has ridden through Grand Prix and has earned her Bronze Medal through the United States Dressage Federation and is currently collecting scores for her Silver and Gold medals. She has had the opportunity to train with some of the top trainers in our arena including Stephan Birchall and Kathleen Raine. Watch for Jennifer and several horses this season in the show ring.
Since fall of 2000, Jennifer has lived in Mission Viejo, CA with her husband Jim and their two children Grace and Noah.
